Lynchbuilt Website

OK so some people may ask where i find such a talented fabricator to help me to do things such as brake caliper mount brackets, or short shifters, or rollcages, or shoehorning a Lexus 1UZFE V8 with custom inlet manifold and a full set of 48IDF's into a HSR Replica Chevette. The answer is here .....

Mark has been helping Tony to create the new Lynchbuilt Website. Tony is based close to Silverdale on Aucklands North Shore. Check out www.lynchbuilt.co.nz

Working On Brakes

So i've been searching for a brake upgrade for 4BNGR, and we have worked out that the offset of FWD wheels does't generally allow alot behind the wheel to be able to squeeze in a 4pot brake caliper, so i have managed to find a combination of Lancia Thema vented disc rotors and Subaru Impreza WRX twin pot calipers that should work pretty nicely. Fortunately the two of them marry up pretty well and will fit behind my existing 15" rims - so its almost time to get a pattern drawn up, and to get some caliper mounts laser cut.

Have a look ..

This ones out of place.

Just realised i haven't put up any of the stuff from the 4 & Rotary Nationals 2011 where i put the Lancia on display with the Lynchbuilt Crew. Reg had his 4AGE powered Chevette there, Lyncho had his 1UZFE V8 Chevette on display, and Mark had his A15 datsun 1200 coupe on display. Heres some pics.

This one is courtesy of www.4androtary.co.nz  thanks guys !

More decals because i didn't have enough stickers.

Thankyou Ebay for your latest contributions of decals to tailgate of the Martini project.
Also heres a couple of pics of the engine bay after installation of a new stainless breather bottle and radiator expansion tank.

Its Been A While.

I am a terrible blogger unfortunately, i never find the time to update things.  I haven't done much for quite a while, unfortunately my mrs has gotten pretty sick, and most of my time and money has gone into taking care of her. I have jumped ship recently from the Peugeot / Chrylser / Jeep / Dodge product and now working for VW as a service advisor, and that is also sucking up any spare time i have leftover.

Well whats been happening ... i had my first real outing a few months back, i did an Autocross at Ardmore Airfield which is kind of like a gymkhana but on a larger scale. The tarmac was quite a coarse chip seal and ripped up my tyres pretty good, but i had alot of fun, and the car proved to be nice and reliable, and gained plenty of attention. I finished top 3rd of the field which is always nice.

My fiancee Belinda took some nice photos of the event also which i'll post below. So .. whats next ? i have found a set of subaru wrx twin pot calibers and lancia thema vented rotors which will work together under my 15" rims to give it a bit more braking grunt, so im quite keen to get the adaptors made up and put those on the car and see wether or not i am going to need to upgrade the master cylinder size. Also i have bought a pair of Nitto NT01 dot rated race tyres to replace the Dunlop D03G's that are currently on the car .. just budgeting to buy another pair before i attempt a track day.

I am really happy with the progress on the car, it handles brilliantly, just trying to fine tune a few more things as i get on with it. Definitely one happy HF turbo owner.
